HAQUOSS H17 - DACTY & GYRO
This disease is caused by an aquarium infestation of trematode worms called dactylogyrus, which are typically up to 5 mm long, transparent, flat-leaf-shaped, and equipped with hooks and suckers that adhere very well to fish. This parasite exploits the less-than-optimal conditions of freshwater aquariums and primarily attacks young fish, while being almost completely harmless when attacking robust adults. However, by remaining dormant in the fish's gills, it can infest newborns or reproduce and attack the host if it is weakened. Gyrodactylus, on the other hand, also belongs to the same family as trematodes but attacks the host's scales. The main fish affected are goldfish, discus, koi, neon carp, and guppies (platys, mollies, and mollies).
SYMPTOMS: Rapid breathing, regurgitation of food, jerky swimming toward the surface, raised gills, increased gill mucus, localized itching in the head area, rubbing against furniture, the bottom, and rocks. Careful observation of the gills can help identify small worms.
CAUSES: Feeding contaminated food, adding new, already infected fish, presence of newly introduced plants in the aquarium on which trematodes have laid their eggs.
Haquoss H17 is a specific product for this type of situation and should be used as soon as the first symptoms appear. Remove the activated carbon filter, if present, and aerate the aquarium thoroughly. During administration, the water will turn yellow/green, but this is completely normal.
IMPORTANT: Invertebrates, snails, and crustaceans cannot tolerate this product. Darken the tank during treatment.
DOSAGE: Increase the aquarium temperature to 28°/30°, add a teaspoon of Haquoss tonic salt and dose 1ml (1 capful = 5ml and 10 drops = 1ml) per 25 liters of water for three days. On the 4th day, do a partial 30% change by adding Haquoss DM1, conditioner and Haquoss DM2, alive and then repeat the dose on the 5th and 7th days if the infection persists. If the disease disappears, on the 8th day, do a substantial partial water change (at least 30%) and resume activated carbon filtration. After the partial change, add Haquoss DM1, DM2, H26 and H28. Return the temperature to the previous values at the end of the treatment. Do not overdose and do not combine with other medicines.
