Nitrates (NO3) are the result of the third and final stage of the nitrogen cycle, where nitrites are converted into nitrates. If not properly controlled, they can become harmful. In freshwater aquariums, nitrate levels should remain below 20 mg/L, while in marine aquariums they should not exceed 50 mg/L. If these limits are surpassed, perform a partial water change (maximum 30%) using nitrate-free RO water and siphon the substrate thoroughly.

Nitrator is a medium-grain filter material that influences water chemistry in three key ways:

1. Absorbs nitrates and ammonia, helping prevent water pollution

2. Promotes the colonization of anaerobic denitrifying bacteria that feed on nitrates, gradually reducing their levels over time

3. Maintains harmful elements such as nitrates and ammonia within safe levels, helping to prevent algae growth

Suitable for both freshwater and marine aquariums.

DIRECTIONS: 240 g reduces nitrate levels by 20 mg/L in 50 liters of treated water. Replace the product once a month and/or whenever nitrate levels begin to rise.
