Dropsy is simply a progressive accumulation of fluids within the peritoneal cavity, which gradually causes the fish to swell.

SYMPTOMS: Curved spine, loss of appetite, lack of activity, white stools, ulcers on the body, flaking scales.

CAUSES: Poor aquarium cleanliness, unstable water levels, poor filtration, temperature fluctuations, prolonged stress. Another, more common, cause of abdominal swelling in fish is intestinal obstruction. This always presents with swelling caused by intestinal obstruction by dry food, which, once ingested, expands, causing air bubbles to form inside the fish. This is due to the fish's greedy nature, which would otherwise never stop eating, therefore, feed only in moderate amounts.

Haquoss H2 is a specific product for this type of situation and should be used as soon as the first symptoms appear. Stop using activated carbon filtration, if present, and aerate the aquarium thoroughly. During administration, the water will cloud slightly, turning yellowish, but this should not cause any problems.

DOSAGE: Increase the aquarium temperature to 28°/30°C, stop using activated carbon filtration, if present, stop using CO2, if present. Add one teaspoon of the product (supplied) to the transparent cylinder (supplied) for every 20 litres of water to be treated, mixing it with 20ml of aquarium water. Shake well for a few seconds to dissolve the solution, then pour the contents near the recirculation pump outlet. For example, if you need to treat 60 litres of water, you will need to repeat this process three times, and so on. Administer the dose for three days and on the 5th day make a partial water change of 30% by adding Haquoss DM1, conditioner and Haquoss DM2, alive. Then repeat the dose on the 6th, 7th, and 8th days if the infection persists. On the 9th day, perform a substantial partial water change (at least 30%) and resume activated carbon filtration. After the partial change, add Haquoss DM1, DM2, H26, and H28 in the recommended doses, returning the temperature to the previous values at the end of treatment. The disease may take up to a fortnight to regress, therefore keep the animals being treated under observation.

Do not overdose and do not combine with other medicines.
