Haquoss D5 is a 100% natural, highly concentrated, and effective product for reducing nitrates (NO3) in freshwater. Nitrites (NO2) and nitrates (NO3) are harmful to the aquatic environment; they result from a biological decomposition process that occurs due to waste products from fish, plants, invertebrates, and leftover food. Ammonia, which appears in water at the beginning of the nitrogen cycle, is transformed into nitrites by nitrosomonas bacteria (also contained in the Haquoss DM2 alive bacterial activator, for use both at the beginning and during aquarium maintenance). Nitrites are then transformed into nitrates by nitrobacter bacteria (also present in Haquoss DM2 alive) and are no longer processed, accumulating in the aquarium. To solve the problem, they must be removed with partial water changes and gravel siphoning in addition to the periodic use of Haquoss D5, nitrapur. The presence of nitrates is therefore a sign of the aquarium's proper functioning because it means the nitrogen cycle is complete and the filter is "mature". Unfortunately, however, they trigger the process of algae proliferation and the presence of phosphates. The maximum nitrate level in the aquarium is 20, 30 mg/l and the method for containing them is as follows:

  1. Partial changes of 10/15% at least twice a month using Haquoss DM1 Conditioner and haquoss DM2 Alive with new water,
  2. Cleaning the filter once a week,
  3. Cleaning the gravel once a month,
  4. Correct daily food dose,
  5. Constant use of Haquoss D5 Nitrapur when nitrate levels begin to rise.

Product safe for fish and shellfish.

DOSAGE: Test for nitrates (NO3). Shake well and dose 1.5ml (one capful = 5ml) per 15L of water daily from the first to the fifth day. Subsequently, dose 2ml per 15L from the sixth to the ninth day, testing for nitrates again. If the NO3 value has decreased to approximately 20, 30mg/l (desirable value), resume the dose of 1.5ml per 15l from the tenth to the fifteenth day to maintain the achieved level and then discontinue. If the NO3 value has not decreased, continue dosing with 2ml per 15L daily until the problem is resolved. Test the nitrate value weekly and repeat the operation if necessary.

IMPORTANT: The full scale of the nitrate test is 100mg/l, so if the value is at the maximum it is not possible to know whether 100 or 200mg/l or more are present. In this case, it is not possible to stop using Haquoss D5, nitrapur but it is necessary to continue until the NO3 value has dropped to 20, 30mg/lt.
